The Pennsylvania Kiwanis Foundation continued our commitment to support the Pennsylvania Service Leadership organization by providing over $14,000 in support of leadership building activities.
Kiwanis International empowers people at every stage of life to become competent, capable, and compassionate leaders by helping them learn to help others. Through its Service Leadership Programs, Kiwanis teaches young leaders new ways to change the world by serving one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis define Service Leadership as the next step beyond service learning. Once a young person fully understands the concept of learning by helping others, he or she begins to grow personally as a leader.
In particular, our Pennsylvania Kiwanis Foundation has provided financial support to:
- Pennsylvania Circle K – A global service organization for university students.
- Pennsylvania Key Club – The largest high school service leadership organization in the world.
- Key Leader – A weekend experience designed to empower emerging student leaders.
- Aktion Club – The only community-service club for adults living with disabilities.
Our outreach provides $75 scholarships to each of the 75 participants in the Key Leader program at Camp Conrad Weiser. Through our support of Key Club and Circle K, are able to provide valuable resources for their leadership training and development, and hands-on service including Circle K’s InterPACK.
